Crumbs in the Butter
November 17th, 2005
How does one keep crumbs out of the butter dish? This was our topic of conversation last night while munching on cornbread. Our eight-year old just cannot get the hang of it. (Never mind our five-year old.) Possible suggestions included:
Get a clean knife every time you need more butter.
Swipe the knife in one stroke and don’t go back for more butter.
Lick the knife clean before re-inserting into the butter dish.
Use a spoon.
Don’t use butter.
The night before that, it was how to pour BBQ sauce without dripping all over the side and edges of the bottle. This included a detailed description and demonstration by dear hubby, which was followed up by our eleven-year old wiping the bottle with a clean napkin.
More on table cleanliness another day…
