I bought a package of smoked salmon at Sam’s Club. It’s about 4-5 servings and, being smoked, lasts a long time in your fridge. I think it’s probably not too hard to find at most of your nicer groceries.

Aaahhh,

Friendly’s clam chowder soup brings back fond childhood memories. Friendly’s was our special night out growing up in Connecticut. Like Pat, my parents also ordered the clam chowder to start and a plate of fried clams. They would top if off with an ice cream sundae, which my sister and I would ogle enviously as we consumed our tiny desserts.

When we moved to the south, my two youngest boys came home from school one day completely disgusted and with the same story to report. At lunch they had been served these little breaded balls that looked delicious to them. Middle son reported: “And then I bit into one and there was this slimey green thing. I almost threw up!” I wish I would have been videotaping. It was too cute.
